Amy was always a “numbers person,” but she stumbled upon accounting accidently. After four years of Air Force ROTC at the University of Minnesota, followed by being commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, the military sent Amy to a Financial Analyst position in Florida. Since she had majored in Mathematics, which included exactly zero business classes, she thought it might be a good idea to take an accounting class or two. It was love at first debit!
After 10 years of on-and-off night classes, and 6 military moves, she finally finished that Accounting degree in Denver, passed the CPA exam, and started working for a Big Four accounting firm in their Tax Department.
Amy went on to earn her Masters of Tax at DU, gain more experience in a regional firm and a couple of local firms around Denver, and open her own firm in 2012. She loved helping clients with their accounting and taxes, and working with small business owners, but longed for an end to grueling tax seasons. She sold her practice in 2019 and worked as a tax and accounting contractor before joining Catching Clouds.
Amy is excited to help entrepreneurs free up their time and understand their numbers in order to fulfil their dreams.
