Dana is a Colorado native, but after college, she needed to spread her wings and moved to Seattle to experience something different. After eight years of enjoying the rain, Dana decided to take a six-month sabbatical and soak up some sun in beautiful New Zealand. But, after months of hiking picturesque mountains, kayaking through fjords, and hanging with the Kiwis, Dana was ready to come back home to Colorado.
Accounting was a natural fit starting in high school where she attended her first course. It was a language she immediately understood. She attended college at the University of Southern Colorado and obtained her BSBA and MBA in Accounting. Dana’s career has been split between the public and private sectors, from providing business advisory services with some of the largest consulting firms in the world, Arthur Andersen and KPMG, to Finance Director and Controller roles in a number of organizations and a variety of industries. Her roles have allowed her to gain experience in areas beyond financial accounting, including HR, payroll, systems implementations, risk mitigation, and strategic planning. Helping organizations take their business to the next level by developing processes and leveraging technology is one of the most rewarding parts of her career.
Dana enjoys the mountains, the four seasons and everything else Colorado has to offer, but the best part is sharing it all with her three-year old son and Bernese Mountain Dog, who often play together like Calvin and Hobbes.
